Dr. Cynthia Bruner Bryson received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina, a Master's Degree from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of South Carolina.
Cindy's lifetime pursuit of higher education began after graduation from Brevard High School when she entered NC State at Raleigh, NC.  She majored in ornamental horticulture there, played in the Wolfpack marching band, cavorted on the football field during games as a wolf mascot, and was an Alpha Delta Pi.
As her interests in intellectual pursuits broadened, she majored in English and Renaissance literature with a fond affection for John Milton.    His  Areopagitica was the foundation for her MA thesis, which is entitled TRUTH AND DISMEMBERMENT.    The dissertation for her doctorate is MARSILIO FICINO'S "Triple Spiritus": TOWARDS A COHERENT THEORY.
Her unquenchable search for knowledge has led her to be a serious student of the Bible and religious studies.  She is certified to teach "Master Life" and "Experiencing God" by the SBA.
Besides her ongoing intellectual pursuits she is a an accomplished artist,  musician, actress, seamstress, gardener, and carpenter.  She could be called a "Jane of all trades."
Cindy is a dynamic, challenging, and entertaining professor of Philosophy, Logic, and Ethics; and she may appear in her classroom as the goddess Athena, as a magician, a monk, a flapper, Data from Star Trek, or a large Oreo cookie - a mnemonic used when teaching Plato's Forms.  Being somewhat of a ham, she loves doing her televised Distance Learning classes broadcasted live and on camera.
She is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society,  and Phi Kappa Phi, a national honors society.  She is  the current Secretary-Treasurer of the South Carolina Society for Philosophy, as well as a faculty sponsor of the undergraduate philosophy club at the college where she teaches.
Long before the idea of "Integrated Life Studies" was birthed, Cindy's focus was on the pursuit of the whole person - the existential unity formed by the integration of mind, spirit, and body.  Her life experiences have contributed greatly to her knowledge of this area from a philosophical and spiritual viewpoint. - Ed.
